Salary: Starting at $19.13 / hr depending on education / experience 

 

 

Job Summary 

 

The Community Integration Support Staff must be able to handle the pressure of training in a public environment, exercise patience, work with flexible schedules; and respond to crisis situations. The ability to effectively communicate, with staff, other agencies and members of the community is crucial to successful integration.

The position also requires the full use of good judgment and common sense during daily affairs, whether at or away from the program. Professional communication and appropriate language, whether written or oral, is essential in everyday activities. This communication may be with any person involved in the life of the individuals served. Ingenuity and creativity must be utilized when determining the best training methods, assistance and supports for an individual.

On certain occasions it may be necessary for you to work at a different location other than your home base – this is a requirement of your employment.

It is not the intent of this job description to cover all of the duties and responsibilities of the position. The aforementioned are some of the important areas of responsibility and are intended to convey a general understanding of the position.

Responsibilities

Transports the individuals served to and from home and to community placements.

Responsible to document daily activities in the electronic health records software.

Assist the individuals served to become as independent as possible in all aspects of daily living including communication, socialization, health and wellness, leisure and other skill building tasks.

Facilitates community participation through local trips and volunteer experiences.

Assists individuals, as necessary, in daily living and community awareness skills.

Attends and participates in the Individual Habilitation Plan (IHP)/Individualized Service Plan (ISP) of individuals as needed.

Collaborates with residential programs to ensure consistent care to the individuals served.

Promote and maintain the public image of Allies, Inc.

Completes all required paperwork of Allies, Inc., relating to Adult Training Services and of DDD as defined in the Adult Training Services/Supported Employment Manual.

Works with each individual’s treatment team, Interdisciplinary Team (IDT), and all other interested parties to build self-esteem and social capitol for each individual served.

Successfully completes required residential training, including but not limited to: New Hire Orientation; CPR and First Aid; Medication Administration; Preventing Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation; Shifting Expectations, Life Experience and Services; Life Threatening Emergencies (Danielle’s Law); Stephen Komninos’ Law; Crisis Management; Corporate Compliance; General Behavior; In-House Orientation; and other required trainings.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma (or equivalent)

  • Valid unrestricted driver's license with a good driving record.

  • The ability to sit, bend, squat, reach, be agile, physically pursue individuals on foot and stand for several hours at a time

  • Must be able to read, write and verbally communicate in English and direct/respond to individual’s needs

  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
